Gymnastics Routines

 

Beginner- Boys

Floor:

 

Tumbling skill examples:

Forward roll- all positions, backward roll- all positions, 1 & 2 arm cartwheels, handstand rolls, round-off, etc.

 

Static Hold examples:

Tri-pod, tip-up, headstand, scales, arabesque, etc.

 

Jump skills examples:

Straight, tuck, straddle, pike, ½ turn, full turn, etc.

 

Horizontal Bar: (Gymnast should be able to mount the bar from the floor, mat or board)

 

Suggested skills:

(* .1 Bonus for back hip circle)

 

Suggested Dismounts:

 

Vault:

Parallel Bars:

Hold examples:

Tuck, "L", straddle, "V", etc.

Skill examples:

Straddle travel, log roll, shoulder roll, 180 & 360 turns, simple Stutz, etc.

Dismount examples:

Rear flank off, tuck front and rear dismount, etc.

Competition Format: Beginner gymnasts will warm-up and compete one event at a time.

 

 

Intermediate/Advanced- Boys

Floor:

Tumbling skills examples:

Cartwheels, handstand rolls, back extension rolls, front and back walkovers, aerials, front and back handsprings, front and back tucks, etc.

Horizontal Bar:

Intermediate: (Bar should be high enough for gymnasts’ feet to clear the floor in a straight-arm hang)

 

Advanced: (Height of bar optional)

 

Vault:

 

Parallel Bars:

Under arm mount examples:

straddle front uprise, back uprise, back roll, front uprise, under arm kip, etc.

Hold examples:

tuck, straddle, "L", "V", tuck and straddle planche, etc.

Skill examples:

shoulder stand, back roll, simple Stutz, forward and backward Stutz, 180 & 360 turns, cast catch, handstand pirouette, etc.

Dismount examples:

front, rear, Stutz, Wende, back and front offs, etc.

Competition Format: Intermediate/Advanced gymnasts will follow USAG warm-up regulations.
