Bela Karolyi, one of the most accomplished coaches in Olympic history, visited Salem Gymnastics promoting the 2004 TJ Maxx Olympic Tour. While at Salem, he spoke with the gymnasts and signed autographs. The gymnasts received a once in a lifetime opportunity to tumble for the coaching legend.
During his visit, Bela Karolyi proved why he is such a success...he is a master of motivation. Quotes from Karolyi: "They (The Olympic gymnasts) are just like you little guys....nothing different....they are just normal kids that by their hard work and dedication became great athletes." "Remember, let me tell you, the sun is shining for all of you. All of you can become a very good gymnast. No doubt about it. It is dependent on you...how much effort you put behind your preparation... how much ambition........ how much you are going to wish to become a good gymnast, and how much you are going to work for it! That's right! ......The door is open for all of you!" "Nothing in the world is coming for free, you've got to work for it, and if you work for it.....YES!.... the satisfaction is coming and that is going to make you, maybe not an Olympic champion, but a very very successful person for the rest of your life."
